Light Up Your Hip

If Pipilotti Rist asked you to light up worn underwear, would you?

I love the work of artist Pipilotti Rist and her fascination with the miracle of life. When she described some of the intentions of her Hip Light installation in an outdoor park in Oslo, I was immediately keen to help bring this idea to life. All these individual white shapes representing real people, formed by their activities, putting the focus on the central part of their body – the location of energy, sex, feelings and emotional intelligence. The task was clear: to find the perfect lighting medium to illuminate worn underwear and keep the lighting medium itself as invisible as possible while withstanding the harsh climatic conditions of an outdoor location in Norway.
